Los Angeles. Oh, how ‘lucky’ I am to call you home. This place steals my heart and leaves me speechless every day, damn. Whether I’m driving down Sunset Boulevard, hiking to the Observatory, or hustling to and from auditions; there’s no city in which I would rather pursue my dreams (and trust me, I’ve lived in A LOT of places).
"This city inherently reminds me how lucky I am to be doing what I love every day."

My name is Kathryn, and I am an actress and fashion writer based in L.A. I’ve lived in Echo Park on and off for five years (splitting my time on the East Coast finishing acting training). I was raised in California, but now that I am permanently back West, I see my style finding the ease and cool that is infused in L.A.’s dress code. L.A. girls love crisp tailored denim, tomboy jumpsuits, and vintage-inspired dresses. Lucky’s spring collection embodies that California laid-back vibe. So here are some of my favorite pieces and favorite spots around town, that’ll help you feel more like a local.

Echo Park. I love my little neighborhood. It is my escape from the crazy traffic and tourist-filled streets of Hollywood. EP is one of the oldest neighborhoods in L.A. From Dodger Stadium to Echo Park Lake, it is a melting pot of historical authenticity. My neighborhood is very walkable, which is rare in this city. I love grabbing my camera, leashing up my pup and walking to the lake. It is a walk I never tire of; staged with super blooms of bougainvillea, charming little bungalows, and hillsides lined with palm trees. Somedays, it doesn’t feel real. My go-to style for casual days is denim. I love the fit of these Lucky jeans. The kick flare and high waist fit feels like vintage denim. I edge up the look by layering with a denim jacket and chunky black boot.

My boyfriend and I are more morning people—so instead of date night, we do ‘date breakfast.' Echo Park has some of the best food in the city. The Dinette is a charming outdoor cafe on Sunset Boulevard, at the heart of EP. It feels like a movie set from the 1920’s. My order? Black iced coffee and avocado toast (I joke that it's the L.A. girl starter kit). Typically, my style is a little bit more tomboy—but for a date, I am a sucker for a dreamy sundress. I love the ruffle details on the hem and sleeves of this piece.

Silver Lake
The Sunset Junction in Silver Lake is another spot I often venture. You’ll find me working at Intelligentsia, curing hangovers at Millie’s Diner, vintage shopping at the flea market, or sipping wine at Café Stella. I like to experiment with different styles on Silver Lake days. It is a neighborhood that attracts young creatives, and I find attire reflects that attitude. The military-inspired jumpsuit is one of my favorite pieces in the collection. This jumpsuit has an instant cool factor. It is versatile and perfect for a busy day, but also transitions seamlessly into the night (just add heels).

Most days, I cannot believe I get to call this place home. Even on the bad days, I can just go for walk or get in my car and this city inherently reminds how lucky I am to be doing what I love every day. So cheers to the never-ending sunshine, IN-N-Out burgers, and traffic jams. L.A., you have my heart. ALWAYS.
