Comments about Lucky Lace Maxi Dress
I'm rating this dress 4 stars because it is beautiful and just as it is presented on the Lucky site. The sleeves are long (I'm long limbed at 5'11) and I love its appearance, design and fabric. It has a slip dress attached underneath the sheer overlay. It hit me right in the calf area, just as the image shows. I'm either a size 6 or 8, but I am not a size 4. I ordered a MEDIUM which is a 8-10 according to LuckyBrand's size chart and a SMALL is a 4-6. I believe a size down would be too small on me because I have curves and these long arms, but the M was simply too big, especially at the waist. It gave me a bit of a frumpy appearance, even with proper posture. While surely this dress should not fit tight on the body, I didn't find it to flatter mine. I thought about keeping the dress and taking the dress to a tailor to have the waist brought in an inch or two, but ultimately I decided to return it. If I ever make it to a Lucky Brick an' Mortar, I'll try on a S if it's there. Tall ladies, with or without curves, I say go for it if you're pretty firm on your size. If you fluctuate like I do, it's likely to be hit or miss. Short ladies, it will either swallow you up or be perfect! I can't speak for small sizes, of course, but there's no issue in length for the 5'10/5'11 crowd and sleeve length should be pretty spot on. I so wish the dress, especially once paired with some good ol' steel toe combats, was right for me as its style is right up my 80s-goth-girl alley.
